Looking back at how the year went till now
Yes, you are right, this is my personal looking back at how the year went for me till now, as I think this is the right time of the year to actually sit down to really ponder upon the way the year unfurled my life. Being a personal blogger gives me the freedom to really talk about what comes to the mind at any given point, irrespective of the time or situation or circumstance. And the best part of it is the fact that personal bloggers don’t follow any particular niche, and that gives them the liberty to talk about virtually everything and anything under the sun.
How was last year for me, anything different than this year ? I can hardly find any difference, only for the fact that this year the challenges have been more, on the personal, professional and intellectual front. Personal relationships have troubled me throughout this year, as I have discovered such wide variety of human behaviors and their subtle mischievous ways of carefully manipulating the very essence of positive relations. Yet, I have been able to handle all these negative situations in my own way and didn’t allow them to affect me much, but the experiences have been mind boggling. Professionally too, this has been a challenging year for me than last year. I have had the privilege of learning in the hard way that sometimes how hard and how dedicatedly you go on about your job, life sometimes find you on the wrong end of the stick, and jolts you to realize that all that happens ultimately happens for good, and that has been working for me till now. On the intellectual front this has been a great year for me, as I have truly learned or rather I will say that I have discovered that I can write a little bit which has helped in my blogging journey till date. Many of you are familiar with my blog and support it whole heartedly for which I am ever thankful to you all, and with your love and support, I will grow my writing and blogging passion to express myself in various ways I can.
Still, let us see in some ways, how this year has gone by for me in various ways, particularly in the hits and misses 🙂
Looking back at the biggest hit this year for me
Yes, the biggest hit this year for me has been the decision to switch to self hosted blogging. Last year my blog Musicalsoundscapes was in the Wordpress hosting, not that I was having any big problems with that or I was not being able to use it the way I wanted, but the limitations for my creative mind clearly existed in this platform. And I was really wanting to shift to self hosting, but due to complete lack of knowledge and also the lack of confidence of hosting my site on my own, was keeping me back from doing it. So, that has been the big leap for me this year, since I, rather apprehensively initially, decided to put it all in the hands of Bluehost to host my site through Wordpress. And this decision I will never regret. It has opened up my blogging to newer possibilities and areas I haven’t known before. The most important hit in my blogging journey has been the opportunity to be pat of such an amazing community where we are all co existing happily. And thanks to all of you fellow bloggers and friends, I am learning so many new aspects of blogging collectively and growing in the process. Self hosting has made it possible for me to experiment with the visual aspects of the blog, as I have been able to implement a premium Theme for my blog. Premium themes come with their own plethora of customisations and rich format options, and I personally are enjoying my sojourns till now. The blog is keeping my busy and engaged, intellectually and in many other ways. And I have found several very good friends in all of you.
Music Hit in any year
Music for me is an universal hit be it any year, any month, any day. And this year is again no exception. As many of you will be familiar with my music tastes and infatuation of sorts, will vouch that I am in constant search of new materials, artists, who open up new horizons for me in their creations. As I get more and more surprised at the vast untapped surge of talents available in music worldwide, I am equally surprised at how musician and artists whom we have grown up listening to, from many years back, are still in the game and setting new benchmarks, much in line with their experience and strong presence in the industry.
Among the new artists I have discovered this year, all of them have surprised me with the quality of the creations they belt out. Most notable are Wildes, Niall Horan, Dean Lewis, Amy Shark, Keels, Canyon City, Jome, Mountains of the Moon, Hollow Coves, Woodlock, Anna of the North and many more. Much mention and sure hits for me are the best rock album this year from The National, recently released album from legendary U2[review forthcoming], new music from John Mayer, Andrew Belle, Novo Amor and the gorgoeus Lana Del Rey. Sure, I am fortunate to be basking in such a wide sea of tunes, as my search is still on, and will be forever. 2017 has been by far one the best years for me in music in recent times.
Every year will leave you with memories, some sweet, some bitter. Yet, the journey of life will continue, with new hopes, new resolutions, new aims and goals. 2017 has taught me many things, the best of the teachings has been to be humble, kind hearted, forgiving and compassionate, when it comes to personal relations. 2017 has instilled in me the confidence to never lose hope, never give up, in any situation, and always to embrace and enjoy life with positive attitude and happiness. This same resolution will be carried forward to the next year too, that I am sure 100%.
Yes, with a few days remaining for 2018, and the beautiful Christmas season and the holidays, it will be reminiscing time for us to pause for a moment and look back at the last 11 months to take a stock of what were our hits and misses, and what lessons have we learnt from all these to move on forward with bigger and confident strides. For me, it will be the same, hoping to achieve newer heights in the coming months in whatever I decide to start or to continue, with the same enthusiasm and attitude I have always been with. With this same positiveness, I am wishing the best of times for all of you and a fantastic Christmas and New Year ahead 🙂 Stay sharp and focussed.
